Animation Stages Our 5 stages are equipped with camera, lensing, and lighting equipment, as well as industry standard Dragonframe software. Stages 1-2 and 3-4 can be combined to accommodate large sets and productions, and Stage 5 is a custom built glass “downshooter” for multi plane effects and paper animation.
Sound & Music The custom made studio of our in-house executive audio producer (and resident magician), Barrett Slagle. All music, sound effects, voice recording and other audio for Open The Portal projects is created right here in the studio, just a few feet away from the stages where we animate.
Fabrication Our extensive indoor/outdoor build space is equipped to handle full scale fabrication teams capable of building sets, puppets, installations, and whatever our clients and in-house wizards can dream up! We’ve worked in scales ranging from the ultra miniature to the unbelievably large. Challenges welcome!
The Sanctuary This sacred room contains enough brainstorm inspiration to get us through ten years at a time–from our specially curated library of books to the longstanding collection of rare VHS tapes (as well as four copies of Men In Black). Take a seat on our eye-searing orange couch, play a round of pinball, or watch a curated slate of films at one of our Purple Curtain events.
